The Pathfinders mission is to form a new generation of young people who love and understand the Catholic Church. Walking in the footsteps of the apostles and saints they will learn the deep truths and joys of a life rooted in Christ. Pathfinders is based on three key values –relational ministry, learning the faith through first-hand experiences, and a challenging system of advancement and achievement. These values will allow young men and women to develop the necessary knowledge and habits to mature as Catholics. As such, they will be ready to take on the challenges of life and be an example to family, friends, and community.
Inspired by St. Pope John Paul II
As a priest, Pope St. John Paul II would take young parishioners on adventures hiking, camping, kayaking and more. While on these trips they would pray together, celebrate Mass, and discuss the beauty of the faith. These trips were life-changing. The young people learned the magnificent truth of the Catholic Faith by living it out in a community of love. JPII embodied the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “To convert somebody, go and take them by the hand and guide them.”
This principal is at the heart of Pathfinders. Guided by their team leaders, Pathfinders work as a community to serve, pray, witness, have fun, and grow in faith.
